CAW CELL में complaint आज हुई है — लेकिन criminal case 9 साल बाद भी आपका पीछा कर सकता है.

Look at what happened in Sidharth Khera & Ors. v. State (GNCTD) through SHO, P.S. CAW Cell, Nanakpura & Anr.

Delhi High Court decided this matter on 2 July 2025.

The matrimonial dispute resulted in FIR No. 159/2016 dated 01.09.2016, registered at Crime (Women) Cell, Nanakpura.

And this was not only a husband’s problem.

The case involved the husband and his parents.

The Court recorded that chargesheet had been filed against:

Petitioner No.1 — husband: Sections 498A/406/34 IPC.

Petitioner No.3 — father: Sections 498A/406/34 IPC.

Petitioner No.2 — mother: Sections 498A/509/406/34 IPC.

Think about the timeline.

FIR: 2016

High Court quashing proceedings: 2025

That is almost 9 years.

Eventually, the husband and wife entered into a settlement dated 25.03.2025. The wife stated before the Court that the entire settlement amount had been received and that she had no objection to quashing the criminal proceedings.

The Delhi High Court ultimately quashed FIR No.159/2016 and all consequential proceedings.

But here is the question every husband and every parent should ask:

क्या आपको लगता है कि “बाद में settlement हो जाएगा” कहकर आज की CAW Cell proceedings को casually handle किया जा सकता है?

A matrimonial dispute may begin as a complaint.

It may then become an FIR.

Then investigation.

Then chargesheet.

Then criminal proceedings.

And even if the dispute is ultimately settled, years may already have passed.

The Delhi High Court itself referred to the principle that matrimonial criminal cases may, in appropriate circumstances, be quashed after settlement where continuation would serve no useful purpose and amount to abuse of process.

This case does NOT mean that every CAW Cell complaint is false.

It means something more practical:

Do not wait for the case to become nine years old before understanding your position.

If your name, or your parents’ names, have entered a matrimonial complaint, the first priority should be:

Documents.
Chronology.
Allegations.
Evidence.
Procedural record.
And a strategy from Day One.

CAW Cell complaint को “देखेंगे बाद में” कहकर छोड़ना महंगा पड़ सकता है.

Because a matrimonial dispute may end in settlement — but the criminal proceedings may keep moving for years before that settlement reaches the Court.
