In a shocking Meerut murder case, a court has sentenced Ravita Kashyap and her partner Amardeep to death for murdering her husband, Amit Kashyap, and attempting to make the death appear like a snakebite.

According to media reports published on October 17, the prosecution established that Amit was strangled and a live, non-venomous snake was placed near his body to mislead investigators. The court had convicted the duo earlier in October. The defence reportedly plans to appeal.
