WEST DELHI: SIX THEFT CASES UNDER INVESTIGATION AFTER WOMAN’S ARREST
Delhi Police arrested a 56-year-old woman, identified in media reports as Neelam Devi, in connection with a house burglary investigated by Hari Nagar Police. According to reports published on 19 October, investigators said the arrest helped them work out six theft and burglary cases across the Hari Nagar and Vikaspuri areas.Police reportedly recovered cash, gold and silver jewellery, watches, gifts, identity documents belonging to a victim’s family, keys and tools allegedly connected with burglaries. A car believed to have been purchased using stolen money was also reportedly recovered.
The case highlights why burglary complaints must be investigated through CCTV footage, technical evidence and verified recoveries. An arrest is not a conviction; guilt must be established in court.
