A woman prisoner named Mamta has been arrested in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, after allegedly escaping from the district hospital around six weeks ago. According to an Amar Ujala report published on October 18, she had reportedly disguised herself in a burqa to flee and carried a reward of ₹25,000 on her arrest.

Police allege that she planned the escape with the help of her sons. After remaining at large for weeks, she was reportedly arrested on Saturday.
